I just love spring. Here's a beautiful picture of a flower tree (type unknown by me - anyone?) taken in front of a church going from one barn to the other. They have these all over and it looks like it is covered in snowballs! Not a dogwood. Not a pear. Those I can identify.
I will try to take some pictures of all the beautiful azaleas as well to post. I generally don't like azaleas - it's really a pretty ugly bush, IMO, but while they are blooming, they're really showy. My favorites are the less common deep maroon ones - but everyone around here seems to have the ordinary fuscia. I've seen advertisings for yellow ones, but I've never seen a yellow azalea. And all the bridal wreath is in bloom as well - really gorgeous!
The one thing I miss from New Jersey is the forsythia in spring. We don't have that down here.
Spring in Louisiana lasts such a short time - the beautiful flowers and mild weather quickly gives way to green, green, and more green, and heat and humidity. The weather should be unbearably hot by May and will last through October at least. So I'm going to enjoy spring while it lasts!

It's so fun to see someone else having spring. The weather here has been warm enough (about 80, which is hot this time of year for us), but our trees shouldn't be blooming until sometime next month. I love it when they are all in bloom.

Oh, Ginger, rub it in! LOL I can't wait for things to start feeling a bit more springish around here. I am hearing rumors of warmer weather by Friday.

Are you sure that it isn't a type of pear? We have these all over. I asked my friend what it was called and I think she told me it was a type of pear tree. I'll check with her tomorrow.
Michele, the most common pear around here that I know of is a Bradford pear and this is not one of those. I did look on the internet trying to see if I could find perhaps another variety of flowering pear, but couldn't pin it down exactly. I'd love ever so much to know, though.
Spring weather is arriving here too! We are in the 70's today but the rest of the week we will be in the 80's. Also, just like you . . .are springs are way too short here in Florida! I love this time of year! Perfect riding weather :-)
That was it! The Bradford Pear! I wish I had planted one of those in our yard. We also have a lot of Forsythias here. Is it too hot in Louisiana?
Michele, I think it is too hot for forsythia down here. I miss it, too. It was so beautiful and cheerful!

I don't know what it is, but it's gorgeous! I can't wait to see flowering trees here!
Again, I have no idea what kind of tree it is. It's GORGEOUS though! I LOVE flowering trees, but we have none of them in our yard.
