1. Keep away from a horse's mouth. Horses have been known to bite.
2. Always wear proper footwear while riding your horse. Never ride in anything but riding boots.
3. Keep your hands firmly on the reins at all times. Sit properly in the saddle. Never, ever close your eyes while on your horse.
4. Make sure to have a firm grip on the reins or lead rope while leading your horse into or out of the barn.
5. Disregard rules 1-4 if your name is Morgan and your horse's name is Punkin.
Is there any better friend for a little girl than a good horse?

What a cute post. I hope my daughter never sees it...she's wanted a horse for as long as I can remember!
Amy, my other daughter, Brooke, was the same way. She would pray for a horse every night, put "horse" on her wish lists for all gift-giving occasions, and was forever playing/drawing/reading about horses. My FIL bought Brooke her horse when she was 8. Horses, and riding in general, is a passion of hers.
For Morgan, she inherited her brother's horse (also purchased by my FIL). Punkin can no longer compete because of leg problems, and she is getting old, but Morgan doesn't want to compete on MY horse. She said she only went to competitions "because Punkin enjoys it so much."
While all horses are Brooke's passion (but she does have a definite soft spot for HER horse), Punkin is the only horse who holds Morgan's heart. And she says when Punkin dies, she'll never ride again.
Looks like a nice horse.
