I love all the different woodpeckers we have here in Louisiana, but Mr. Red-Head is my favorite. I brought my camera with me today in hopes of catching a shot of him. I was not disappointed.
We also hung a squirrel feeder today. (Steve even brought out a level to make sure it was installed on the tree properly. I think that was a bit excessive.) It's called a Squirrel Snacker. I can't wait to get some shots of the silly squirrels getting into the thing.

wow. that red woodpecker really stands out in the green leaves of the tree. what a pretty bird.
What a striking bird, Ginger...just beautiful! I have not seen that particular woodpecker around here. I'll have to check and see if he ranges this far north.
