Evil Mother

I am evil. Just ask my 13-year-old daughter.

She has been punished this past week. Her punishment is to be my shadow. Part of this means she cannot go to her aunt's house to run on the treadmill. So not only am I subjecting her to my constant presence, I am thwarting her efforts to live a healthy lifestyle. Shame on me.

So I :::gasp::: announced today that we were going to the track to run. (Okay, SHE could run. *I* was walking.) Oh, Mom, no! How can you? Brooke insisted she could NOT run with people running behind her.

I can solve that problem, I tell her. You run BEHIND THEM! She rolled her eyes at me.

We went to the track (one not so eagerly) and I walked. Brooke sat. Morgan sat. Two laps all by my lonely self. Morgan joined me on lap three. Brooke sat. Because there were :::horrors::: high school boys from the track team. SIGH!

Finally, on lap four or five, most of the track boys were gone. And two other boys came up and started talking to Brooke. She was walking to get away from them.

Finally I finish eight laps. I sit in the stands and tell Brooke when she runs at least ONE lap, we will go home.

She starts running. Here comes a horsey acquaintance Brooke hasn't seen in a long time. So they run/walk and talk.

I don't think this was so bad. I think we will have to do this again.

What do you think, Brooke?

Brooke?

HAAAA - I think we should make an "evil mother club", of which, I'm sure, my daughter would make me the president...I've had her phone for quite some time now ;-)

HOW in the world do you have time to fit in walking when you're building a house? I must email you privately to inquire!

Cynthia, Cynthia, Cynthia. You have too high of expectations. This is the first time I've walked in perhaps a hundred years!
